Winter on the sunny side of Zugspitze
Whether you're seeking sporty challenges or gentle winter activities, the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena has something for everyone.
Seven diverse ski areas offer perfect slopes for every skiing style: Ehrwalder Alm, Ehrwalder Wettersteinbahnen, Marienberg in Biberwier, Skiarena Berwang-Bichlbach, Grubigstein in Lermoos, Karlift Heiterwang, and the Zugspitze ski area (accessible via the Tiroler Zugspitzbahn). A well-developed ski bus network connects all areas—free with the guest card.
Right at the German border and brimming with winter charm—it's the perfect destination for those seeking genuine winter experiences and authentic adventures.
Off the Slopes
Several toboggan runs provide great fun during the day and under the lights at night in Ehrwald, Berwang, and Lermoos. You can also enjoy torchlight hikes through snowy forests (free with the guest card), ice skating, curling, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and relaxed llama hikes (also free with the guest card) to fully immerse yourself in the serene winter landscape.
Cross-country skiers can look forward to around 130 kilometers of free trails across all difficulty levels. Snow reliability is guaranteed on the high-altitude trails in Berwang and the snow-covered golf circuit between Ehrwald and Lermoos—winter buses, rental services, and cross-country skiing schools make for a convenient start.
